Here are a few tips on how to incorporate gratitude & positive thinking into your daily life! Try these tips for at least 30 days in a row to see a significant positive change in your life!
- Stay in bed: Yes, you read that right! Stay in bed for a couple minutes before you step your feet onto the ground. Use this time to thank the Universe for your many blessings (the more specific you are the better!) and also use this time to visualize the day ahead. See yourself succeeding in all that you do, see yourself having happy experiences with all the people you come in contact with, and finally imagine yourself coming home for the day feeling well accomplished! Doing this for a few minutes every morning will really make a difference in your whole day.
- Thank your food: When you are preparing meals during the day, be sure to thank your food. You can say this (or make up your own version!) out loud or to yourself, “Thank you food for nourishing my body and providing me with everything that I need to be at a healthy person. I send love and light to you!” I do this while preparing meals for my family to infuse good energy into the food. While at the table, we also wave our hands over our food and say, “thank you, thank you, thank you!” My children love doing this so it makes it a fun way to give thanks for each meal with small kiddos.
- Pause: During frustrating times during the day, take a moment to pause. While you are paused take 3 deep breaths. Try to think and focus upon something that is related to the frustrating situation that you are thankful for. For example: The ride you have arranged to get to work is late to pick you up and you start feeling pretty upset. You could pause, take 3 deep breaths, and think of how grateful you are that you have a ride that allows you to get to and from work easily and comfortably. You could think of all the times your ride has been on time. When you focus upon the good of any situation, the Universe will respond with more of the good stuff! If you allow yourself to continue to focus on the negatives of a situation, then more negative is bound to show up. You always have the power to change your thinking!
